Dr

Guiyu Cao

Postdoctoral Research Assistant

Biography

Guiyu received the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2020, and the B.S. degree from Northwestern Polytechnical University (Honors College) in 2015. From 2020 to 2023, he worked at Southern University of Science and Technology as a postdoctoral fellow and then the research assistant professor. He was the visiting scholar at Peking University in 2021. He joined the Environmental Fluid Mechanics group in March 2023 as a postdoctoral research assistant with Dr. Christopher Vogel.

Research Interests

Guiyu concentrates on implementing accurate, efficient, robust high-order numerical methods and developing advanced physics models for turbulent flows and its applications. He has a broad interest in modelling and numerical schemes on multiscale physical and engineering system, especially in fluids mechanics.

Current Projects

Guiyu now is responsible for implementing blade-resolved simulations and developing more efficient, accurate and robust blade model for offshore wind turbines.
