Brannon Nicholls MBio

Doctoral Student

Biography

Brannon is a DPhil student in the Advanced Bioscience of Viral Products programme. Under the supervision of Professors Robert Carlisle and Constantin Coussios, his project aims to utilise organs preserved by normothermic machine perfusion as a platform for testing novel gene therapy vectors.

Before joining the BUBBL group, Brannon worked as an Associate Scientist at Theolytics, developing oncolytic adenoviruses. He has also worked as a Technician and Team Lead in a diagnostics lab and graduated with a MBio in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick in 2019.

Research Interests

  • Lentiviral gene therapy
  • Normothermic machine perfusion
  • Ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery.

Current Projects

Use of normo-thermic perfused organs to profile PK and infection efficiency of novel viral gene therapy vectors.
