Massimo Mariello BSc MSc PhD

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Biography

Dr Mariello holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering (2015), a MSc (2017) and a PhD (2021) in Material Engineering and Nanotechnology at the Università del Salento and the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies of the Italian Institute of Technology. He worked on flexible microfabricated transducers and nanogenerators based on piezoelectric and triboelectric materials for energy harvesting and biosensing. He was a Postdoctoral Scientist at the École Polytéchnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) since 2021 where he worked on implantable bioelectronics and thin-film encapsulations for electrical/optical recording/stimulation.

He moved to the University of Oxford (Institute of Biomedical Engineering) in 2023 as Senior Postdoc for investigating electronically-controlled drug-delivery bioelectronics for treating neurological disorders.
