People involved in the Solid Mechanics and Materials Group, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford.

People

We are very lucky in the Solid Mechanics Group to have some very talented researchers and support staff

Our academic teams are split into three groups: Academics, Research Staff and Research Students. Academics are the heads of research projects and supervisors of research staff and students. Research Staff have completed their doctorate and are continuing their research. Research Students are also known as DPhils or PhD students.

The support staff are the backbone of the department. They are responsible for ordering equipment, organising the department and managing research projects. Without them, the academic work and research would not be possible
