Biography

Dr Xiping Wu received the PhD degree from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. From 2011 to 2014, he was a Marie-Curie Early-Stage Researcher, funded by the European Unions Seventh Framework Program (FP7). From 2013 to 2014, he was on secondment to the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of LAquila, Italy.

From 2014 to 2018, Xiping held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship with The University of Edinburgh, funded by the British Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. He is currently a Research Associate at the Department of Engineering Science. He has authored or co-authored over 40 journal and conference papers.

Research Interests

Xiping's current research interests are in the areas of 6G mobile communication networks, visible light communications, hybrid LiFi and WiFi networks, and the Internet of Things.

Current Projects

Enhance Lighting for the Internet of Things (ELIOT) project: This is a €7m project funded by EU Horizon 2020, aiming to boost optical wireless communication technologies for the IoT market.
