Alistair Borthwick

 

 

Resumé

Alistair Borthwick, Professor of Engineering Science at Oxford University, has more than 25 years experience in civil, coastal and offshore engineering.  He is a Fellow of St Edmund Hall.  His research interests include coastal processes, shallow lake hydrodynamics, fluvial morphodynamics, dyke break inundation, chaotic advection, grid generation techniques, and fluid-structure interaction.  He has authored many papers in international refereed journals. Professor Borthwick is Chairman of the U.K. Coastal Research Facility User Group, a member of the EPSRC Peer-review College, and has been a member of the EPSRC Physics-Engineering Interface Committee.  He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
