William Hunter

William Hunter, DPhil Student in Engineering Science

Academic Background

William obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, both at the Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences, in 2009 and 2011, respectively.

William joined the Tidal Energy Research Group at the University of Oxford in October 2011, with funding from the Oxford Martin School through the Programme on Globalising Tidal Power Generation.

Research Interests

Research interests lie in fluid mechanics, renewable energy and numerical modelling. Analytical techniques and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be used to develop and improve new turbines and deployment strategies for efficient generation of power from the tides.
