Open Days & Outreach

Open Days

Open Days at the Department of Engineering Science enable you to find out more about the Engineering course here at Oxford, learn about our research, visit our laboratories and see for yourself some of the facilities we have to offer.

In addition to a full programme of talks and tours covering our Engineering specialisms, you will have the opportunity to talk informally to students currently on the course and to hear first-hand about life as an Oxford Engineering student.  College tutors will also be available to offer advice and guidance.

  • Headstart
Our Headstart programme has been running since 1999 and gives Year 12 students the chance to find out about the many different aspects of Engineering, hone teamwork and practical skills, network with speakers from industry and learn more about the stimulating career opportunities a degree course can lead to.
  • Dragonfly
By demonstrating how exciting Engineering can be, our annual Dragonfly Day encourages Year 10 girls from local state schools to consider a future in Engineering. By invitation only.
  • UNIQ
Engineering is offered as part of the UNIQ Summer School - a programme of free residentials in July and August for Year 12 students currently studying at UK state schools.
