2009 Sloane Robinson Scholars

The Sloane Robinson Foundation scholarships in Biomedical Engineering have been awarded to Rui Xu from China and Chia-min Chang from Taiwan. Both Rui Xu and Chia-min Chang have demonstrated exceptional talent and promise in the field of biomedical engineering. Our thanks to the Sloane Robinson Foundation for funding these scholarships.

Rui XuRui Xu (Jesus College) graduated from the University of Birmingham with a B.Eng (Hons.) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. His career aspirations are to finish his DPhil and become a renowned researcher in the field of ultrasound and biomedical image processing.

Chia-min ChangChia-min Chang (Wolfson College) is a graduate from the National Taiwan University with a double-major in Life-Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. He said "I'm particularly interested in the kinematics of the human scapular which plays a crucial role in a wide range of movements".
