Welcome to the Scanning Optical Microscopy Group

Welcome to the Scanning Optical Microscopy group within the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Our research centres on the development of high-resolution optical microscopes and related optical systems. This work encompasses theoretical, experimental and technological development aspects. Our research areas include confocal, multi-photon and widefield sectioning microscopes, with applications ranging from bio-imaging to materials characterisation. We also develop active and adaptive optics for aberration correction and beam control in microscopy and photonic fabrication techniques.
