We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Physiological Modelling to join Dr Stephen Paynes research group at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Engineering Science. The post is funded by the European Commission and is fixed-term for 3 years.
The project is involved with the development and validation of multi-scale mathematical models of blood flow in stroke patients being treated with thrombectomy. These models of cerebral blood flow and metabolism will be validated against databases of many thousands of patients in conjunction with ten other partners across Europe. You will be responsible for helping to develop and to validate these models.
You should possess a PhD/DPhil in a related subject and have experience of mathematical modelling of physiology, particularly in the context of bio-fluid mechanics, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and excellent written and spoken English.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Stephen Payne (email@example.com).
You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, including a brief statement of research interests (describing how past experience and future plans fit with the advertised position), CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
Only online applications received before 12.00 midday on 29 June 2018 can be considered.
The Department holds an Athena Swan Bronze award, highlighting its commitment to promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
