Thermocouple Time Constant Correction Techniques
Overview
Thermocouples are a convenient device for measuring temperature, but when fluid temperatures are varying, their thermal inertia causes the output to be attenuated and phase delayed. This project will provide a critical review of the different signal compensation techniques that have been applied to thermocouple signals, and identify techniques that should overcome some of the existing shortcomings. A calibration rig and reference temperature measurement system using a hot wire anemometer will also be used.
