DPhil studentship available

Funded position available for project on structured polymer liquid crystals

This project involves the development of new types of liquid crystal devices that use laser-written polymer structures to stabilise liquid crystal materials so that they exhibit novel properties and provide new capabilities, for example in display devices. This will involve collaboration between the groups of Professor Steve Elston, Professor Martin Booth and Dr Stephen Morris, in conjunction with the company Merck under the EPSRC Industrial CASE award scheme. The studentship can, in principle, start at any time from the 1st October 2016.
