MSc in Biomedical Engineering

3D computer modelling the kinematics and mechanics of human joints and their prosthetic replacementThe 12-month full-time course is aimed at graduates with a good first degree in engineering, or the physical sciences to prepare them for careers in biomedical engineering in industry, healthcare (including the UK National Health Service) and research. The taught components in the initial stages of the course will provide a core education in biomedical engineering followed by more specialist topics at an advanced level in the second term. Lectures and classes will be complemented by laboratory sessions and a team project. A major part of the MSc will be a dissertation on a research project undertaken in one of the six thematic research areas of the new Oxford Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Students will also be trained in computational methods and research skills.
