EPSRC Doctoral Training Grant Studentships
Eligibility: Home/EU applicants

The Department holds funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to support approximately 6 research students per year.

Successful applicants who are UK residents will have their University and college fees paid and receive a maintenance stipend of at least £13,890 per year. Successful applicants who are EU residents will have their University and college fees paid but will not receive any maintenance stipend. An EU national who has studied for an undergraduate degree at a UK university during the three years leading up to the application is classed as a UK resident.

There is no separate application form to apply for these awards. All Home/EU applicants for research degrees who apply for graduate study by 1 June 2012 will be considered for this funding.

The final decisions will be announced in late June/early July 2012. However, studentships may be awarded earlier to applicants who already hold a first-class degree or its equivalent.

Project Studentships
Eligibility: as stated in the advertisement

Research studentships linked to specific research projects are advertised on the Department's Job Vacancies page. These studentships become available at various points throughout the year.

Candidates are expected to meet the Graduate Admissions criteria and a full graduate application must be made at the same time as applying for a project studentship. Further details about making a graduate application are available at http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/postgraduate/apply.
