My name is Fozia Tahir and I belong to Khyber village located in the northern areas of Pakistan. My basic schooling has been in Gilgit and then we migrated to Rawalpindi for higher education.
I did my BS in Environmental sciences from Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) and my MS in Environmental Sciences from National University of Science and Technology (NUST). My Research title in MS was Investigation of sludge characteristics and bacterial diversity of membrane bioreactor systems that lead to my interest in forward osmosis for wastewater treatment.
I am currently a first year DPhil candidate studying Engineering Science at Jesus college. Back in my country, I was a part of local education board that is a voluntary community setup under Aga khan Education Services and I have also been a president of NUST environment club during my MS.
Altogether I have always believed in girl power and that's where fits Athena swan fits in!!
