UK Trebles funding to tackle Zika Virus

Development of an online data-sharing platform for images of fetal and newborn heads.

The University of Oxford is leading a multi-disciplinary team of clinician scientists, epidemiologists, geneticists, engineers, computational biologists and radiologists from Brasil, the USA and UK, that has just been awarded an MRC Zika Rapid Response grant of £145,000 to produce an online, digital information platform for images of fetal and newborn heads (plus associated clinical records) as a global data-sharing resource.

The team is led by Professor Stephen Kennedy from the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and involves Professor Alison Noble, Dr.Christoffer Nellåker and members of their research teams at the IBME.
