Dr Priyanka Dhopade in the top 72 candidates for space travel

Dr Priyanka Dhopade, Senior Researcher and Lecturer in Engineering Science at the Department’s Osney Thermo-Fluids Laboratory, has made it through to the top 72 candidates being assessed for space travel.

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is looking for exceptional people to be the next generation of astronauts. Two individuals will be selected as new members of the Canadian Astronaut Corps.

Dr Dhopade’s research involves creating computer models of jet engines to predict better the heat transfer inside the engine.   

The CSA is recruiting exceptional people with excellent health; a university education in science, engineering or medicine; and extensive knowledge and experience.
